Made it to the MTC

Dearest Amigos,

I definitely slept for most of the flight. It was wonderful. It was my last nap for a while unless I'm sick or lazy or breaking rules. Unfortunately, I forgot to eat my cookies on the flight. It's ok though; I found them while I was cleaning today and ate them. Mmmm, week old cookies. Speaking of food though, it's pretty good here. Sunday and Wednesday we have fancy ice cream, Monday we have Chick-Fil-A, and almost everyday (including those days) we have two entrees, left overs, salads, wraps, and soups to choose from. I like it. And. THEY HAVE CARROTS. My companions (Hermanas Klopfer and Jackson) already know how much I love carrots since I kind of pile them on my tray in the corner. They are so good.

We are teaching two investigators right now. I don't really know all of the details about how that works in the MTC, but I was told that some people are actually investigators, some just work here, some work here and aren't members of the church, some work here and are... So, really I have no idea. It's pretty cool though. We are supposed to teach in only Spanish, so one of our investigators doesn't understand Spanish at all, but Ivette can Spanglish. Spanglish is wonderful. Interestingly, I find myself recalling much of the Spanish vocab I learned in high school, and I know that its not me. It's definitely answered prayers.

Funny story: all of the Sisters in my district (those I share a room and classroom with) and I got lost Friday morning on the way to our service thing. We left early but walked around for 15 or so minutes looking for the building we were supposed to help clean only to find it RIGHT ACROSS FROM THE BUILDING WE SLEEP IN. It was freezing outside at 6:20am!

Tuesday night Elder Rasband came for devotional. it was neat. He walked around and let us ask questions about how missionaries are called to their specific areas. Pretty much all of us were comforted with the knowledge that we have been called to serve in the area where the Lord needs us most. He gave a talk about it in April 2010, too.

Hasta Luego,

Hna Valentine
